Philip Sasser
Though born in Ohio (through no fault of his own), Philip has called North Carolina home for most of his life and considers himself, at least by Wake County standards, practically native. His primary-school years were a mix of public, private, and home education in Cary, North Carolina.
Philip matriculated at Davidson College in 2001, where he served as president of the campus literary society and wrote regularly for several student publications. He was married in 2005 and graduated six months later with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Immediately following his graduation from Davidson College, Philip began his formal legal studies at The Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2008. While in law school, Philip served as a research assistant to Prof. Patrick Hetrick, was active in the Federalist Society, and received the 2008 I. Beverly Lake Constitutional Law Prize for his paper on First Amendment jurisprudence.
He has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 2008 and is a member of the State Bar of North Carolina, the Bar of the Eastern District of North Carolina, the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and The Federalist Society.
Philip sees the practice of bankruptcy law as emblematic of the just resolution and mending of societal hurt that all law, at its best, strives to achieve.
Philip is married to the brilliant and beautiful Kate Sasser and is the proud father of two little girls. In what bits of time remain, he enjoys bee-keeping and playing the violin.
